favorite concert venues in northern utah

Being a music lover, I have attended a lot of concerts. In doing this, I have visited a lot of different music venues. Here I have compiled a few of my favorites that I have taken photos at, experienced music, and fell in love with new bands at right here in Utah!

KILBY COURT

Kilby Court is a small concert venue in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is a great place to discover up & coming artists that have a lot of energy and are fun to be at! The last show that I went to at Kilby Court was a Krooked Kings concert where they were accompanied by Strawberry Milk Cult & the Gontiks. Overall, the atmosphere is exciting, grunge and always a good time!

THE UNION

The Union is a music venue in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is a larger venue than the others on this list, and tend to have some notable artists come and perform there. I personally have seen some of my favorite performances at the Union, including Bleachers, Wallows, and even Hippocampus. The energy is heightened in this venue as the amount of people is exponentially larger compared to smaller venues, and with an all standing room ticket system you can get up close and personal with the musicians and their biggest fans.

VELOUR

Velour is a small concert venue in Provo, Utah. This venue has my favorite atmosphere of all of them. With their support of local musicians with fun events like Battle of the Bands where they have a full house every night for a week, there is never a quiet night at the Velour. Many big names played there when they were starting out, like The Backseat Lovers. With their artsy decor and floor rugs on stage, you can’t beat the view at this venue.

THE BOARDWALK

Another place, The Boardwalk is located in Orem, Utah and has an abundance of young, energetic bands coming to the scene. They have had garage bands like Youth Pool, Mom Dad n Me, and Just Khakis that will blow your socks off every time. A grunge filled venue, they have a wall of signatures that are filled with fans, bands, and more. You can’t go wrong with this great spot in Utah county.

SOUNDWELL

One of my favorite locations in Salt Lake City is Soundwell concert hall. With a fairly small building, the room has a personal feeling that makes you feel close to the music. There is a bar area towards the back for guests 21+, and a watering station for the younger fans. This is the venue for your favorite artists who have a couple of EP’s and an album that are at the start of their career, and it brings some awesome names: The Moss, Adam Melchor, Arlie, and so many others.
